Cricket Feeding Guide
Optimization & Care for Banded Crickets
🥕 Step 1: Loading
Gut load your crickets with calcium-rich vegetables (carrots, squash) or specialized cricket diet for at least 24-48 hours before offering to your pet.
☁️ Step 2: Dusting
Lightly coat crickets in a calcium or multivitamin supplement. Use the "shake and bake" method in a tall plastic cup to ensure even coverage.
🚀 Step 3: Fast Feed
Because Banded Crickets are fast, it is best to release them one by one or in small groups so your reptile doesn't become overwhelmed by their speed.
💨 Step 4: Ventilation
Always keep crickets in a well-ventilated container. High humidity and stagnant air are the leading causes of cricket die-off.
The "Golden Rule" of Crickets
- No Standing Water: Crickets are prone to drowning. Use water gel crystals or high-moisture fruits for hydration.
- Hidey Holes: Provide egg flats or cardboard tubes to increase surface area and reduce stress/cannibalism.
- Clean Habitat: Regularly remove any dead crickets or spoiled food to prevent odors and bacterial growth.
*Properly gut-loaded crickets are the foundation of a healthy reptile diet.*
