Superworm Feeding Guide

Superworm Feeding Guide

Energy-Dense Nutrition Management

Storage Temp 70°F - 80°F
Refrigeration NEVER
Feeding Style Bowl Only

🥣 Step 1: Use a Bowl

Superworms are expert burrowers. Always feed them in a smooth-sided dish to prevent them from digging into the substrate and hiding from your pet.

🥦 Step 2: Gut Loading

Enhance their nutritional value by feeding them leafy greens, carrots, or squash 24 hours before they are offered to your reptile.

✨ Step 3: Supplementing

Lightly dust the worms with Calcium + D3. Their active movement helps the powder stick and attracts the attention of your hunter.

📐 Step 4: Portion Control

Due to their high fat content, Superworms should be used as a staple for growing juveniles or a treat for adults to maintain a healthy weight.

The "Golden Rule" of Superworms

  • Do Not Refrigerate: Superworms are tropical. Temperatures below 60°F will kill them quickly. Keep them in a dark, room-temp spot.
  • Hydration: Use a slice of potato or carrot for moisture. Avoid water crystals as they can make the bedding (oat/bran) moldy.
  • Head Pinching: For very young or timid reptiles, some keepers choose to crush the worm's head with tongs before feeding to prevent biting.

*Superworms are high-protein powerhouses for Bearded Dragons, Monitors, and large Geckos.*
